Story
Hi everyone,
I am completing this walk to support my husband, Andy, who was first diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in March 2010. Last year I completed the 28km challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support... this year I am taking on the 50km challenge for the Kidney Cancer Support Network (KCSN).
Each year, over 12,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. It is the 7th most common cancer in the UK, and is responsible for over 4,000 deaths a year.
The KCSN is the largest and most active patient-led charity, supporting the largest network of kidney cancer patients and carers across the UK. They strive to improve the lives of those affected by kidney cancer by advocating for the best possible clinical care and treatment, raising awareness and providing vital support and information to anyone affected by kidney cancer. The KCSN is widely recognized as the specialist charity for kidney cancer in the UK, led by patients for patients.
It is a relatively small charity that has provided us with invaluable help, support and information over the years. The contacts I have made there, are now a big part of our life and have formed a great support network during times that can feel quite lonely.
Please donate to this cause if you can, so that the KCSN can continue their brilliant work in supporting other families through this horrible disease.
Thanks,
Lottie & Andy (AKA Team Foz)
