Story
This October, I’ll be running 2 marathons in 2 days across the Sahara Desert in Morocco. Call me crazy but here’s why...
2000: My very first Race for Life. Since I was a toddler, mum and I used to do fun runs together, running was our thing. And every year since then we’ve run a Race for Life together.
2016: I started working for Race for Life as an Event Manager. We gathered with women who have loved and lost, fighters and survivors all in one place. To see the strength and courage of these women all together was so powerful.
2019: My beautiful mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and threw our little family’s world upside down. The side effects of chemo and drugs trials is horrible to see let alone the mental and emotional battles faced every minute of every day. Cancer is selfish and destroys lives, often the most undeserving of us.
So if these women can go through all of that just to fight to see the sunrise over their family for another day, then I can run a couple of marathons 🤷🏼♀️
Please donate anything you can, if this money means that just one family doesn’t have to go through what we’ve been through it’s worth every penny and every mile.
