Charlotte's Death Valley cycle

As some of you may be aware, my Dad passed away in March 2015 following a 3 year battle with cancer. He was diagnosed in March 2012 with stage 4 metastatic Colon Cancer. He was given just 3-6 monthsto live but defied all odds to outlive every prognosis handed out. 48 sessionsof chemo, 2 blood clots, a near diabetic coma and a perforated bowel later he lost his courageous fight. No one can say he wasn't a stubborn old bugger.
My Dad was lucky enough to be treated at The Christie on more than one occasion. The Christie gave him hope and made his last few months with us comfortable. He spoke veryhighly of the staff that treated him and the respect and dedication they had for their job. I'm eternally grateful and proud of the NHS and this is my small way of giving something back.
So I'm cycling 420km (130km less than lasttime)... I do have a habit for signing up for these challenges there was the time I climbed the three peaks (peak number 3 with a partially dislocated knee)and then of course my infamous Costa Rica cycling adventure which has left me with a bent thumb. I'm hoping this trip is less eventful, it's only 6 days of undulating hills and 40 degree heat... how hard can it be?! Maybe stubbornness runs in thefamily.
I'd be massively grateful for any donations;I'm self-funding this one so all the cash goes to the charity (hurrah).
Many thanks to all you lovely lovely people.
