Story

I'm fundraising for St Cuthbert's Hospice, this is my story...

In early 2019 our beloved Aunty Moira was diagnosed with lung cancer, unfortunately we were only blessed with a short few months with our Aunty M until she passed away peacefully surrounded by her closest family in August of that year.

Aunty M spent the majority of those last months being cared for in St Cuthbert’s Hospice, by the amazing staff. They showed kindness, care and compassion to not only our Aunty M but it extended to the whole family and it allowed us to spend precious time together and take some comforting memories from one of the most difficult times in our lives. The whole team from the café staff, to the nurses, doctors, domestics and nursing assistants - our journey would have been a great deal more difficult if you guys hadn’t helped us along the way  - thank you.

So, as well as remembering Aunty M this year with a jam and clotted cream scone (our St Cuthbert’s favourite), I have decided to take part in the GNR to try and raise some money for this amazing charity, who rely heavily on donations to run the service.

I appreciate many are struggling at the moment so any small donation would be greatly appreciated…

It's not the amount that matters but the meaning behind your donation.”

Thank you,

Charlotte :)
