Nene Challenge · 29 May 2021

To celebrate 600 years since the founding of the Bede House & Chichele College by Henry Chichele, Archbishop of Canterbury, we've launched our St. Mary’s 600 Appeal with the goal of raising £600,000 to preserve our historic buildings and provide modernised facilities for the use of our community

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi, this half term, for a challenge, I will be completing an expedition - walking, canoeing and cycling - from Higham Ferrers to the sea, following the Nene Way. This is a distance of over 60 miles!

It should take 4 days, and I will be camping along the route.

I want to use this challenge to raise much needed funds for 3 charities...

1. Save the Children - to help children in the most urgent need worldwide.

2. St Marys Higham Ferrers 600 Appeal - to help preserve our church so it can continue to provide a community hub for young people.

3. Nene Valley Scouts - to provide a fund for groups that need support following the impact of Covid, helping others have their own adventures!

I will be leaving Higham Ferrers on Saturday 29th May and walking to Denford - where fellow scouts will be canoeing with me to Wadenhoe. After camping overnight, I will be walking to Fotheringhay on day 2. Day 3, I will be walking to Peterborough Cathedral, day 4 cycling to Wisbeach and completing the final section by walking to the Wash.

Thank you for your time in reading about my challenge. If you are able to support me, that would be fantastic. You can choose which of my selected charities to support, but it would be great to have an even spread of funds for each one. I have had to set up a separate crowdfunding page for Nene Valley Scouts which can be found on the following link...

I will keep you updated on my progress.
