As some of you will already know my wonderful mum was
diagnosed with cancer in summer last year, which had metastasised to her bones. Until then she was running a large law firm and so had to semi retire both as a result of the impact of the disease itself and also in order to be treated.

Not everyone is in a position where they can afford to stop working because of illness and have their finances reduced indefinitely. Moreover many people don’t have the right emotional/ physical/ financial support when their whole life is turned upside down by the words ‘you have cancer’.

So I've decided to run a half marathon for Macmillan in December.
