Inspired by my amazing friend Emily Jane Krombas who is running 13 marathons in 13 months, I decided to get on my bike. I plan to make a ride for every year of my life. 26 you say? No sadly not - as I approach the big 50 I feel that would be  fitting number (26 x 2 with 2 rides off for good behaviour).

My first ride was 25 miles with a 1500m elevation in 2 hrs. Not quite Bradley Wiggins but I'm working up to it. Check out my progress below.

St Peter and St James Hospice is a cause very dear to my heart. They cared for my lovely friend Heidi Simpson in her last months. She was a fantastic intensive care nurse who was compassionate, dedicated and always funny. I'm also cycling in memory of dear friend Tristan Martin who died 8 years ago this May and for my lovely friends Julian MacDonald (paramedic) and Jo  Burroughs- (palliative care specialist nurse).

I realise you may have 'giving fatigue' but £2.60 with gift aid is £3.25. 150 of those and I'm there. (Obviously a little bit more would be appreciated for this great cause.....)
