Covid-19 emergency appeal
Campaign by Child of Hope (RCN 1136068)
Donate here to help Child of Hope in its support of slum families during Covid-19. With Uganda now in total lockdown, the situation in Namatala slum is becoming dire and desperation gripping the entire community.

Story

Child of Hope in the Namatala slum provides many many children with education, food, healthcare and support with health education and income generating activities for their parents. The time we spent there with the incredible Moses and Bex Okotel and their team will always be some of the most impacting, meaningful, challenging, heartbreaking, inspiring time of our lives.

The effect of Coronavirus and the lockdown on their community is devastating. Things are desperate - even the rat population has now been eaten. This is hard to comprehend, but more than real. The organisation is called Child of Hope and they do bring so much hope. They are working incredibly hard to provide masks for the community and to meet the needs of the most vulnerable families.

We were talking about the situation to Ezra and discussing how we can help as a family - he had an idea (inspired by Captain Tom!). He is going to run 5km, which is further than he has ever run before. He would like to raise as much money as he can to help the children in a community in desperate need.

Please do consider donating anything you can at all - the money will literally be life-saving for this community ❤️
