We are now home from Spain overlooking the Matahorn of the Costa Blanca, Sierra Bernia! 

I am pleased to advise that on Wednesday 20th August my husband, Nick and his mother, Maggie completed the walk from sea level up to the summit of the mountain, around to peak and then descend back to sea level!!  And yes they did have a well deserved pint - of beer and a large dinner (lovingly prepared by me and my Mum with Katie supervising!!)

Why am I reminding you??  Well, they are doing it to raise money for Cancer Research UK - a charity close to many of our hearts especially our family as has have lost 2 family members and a close friend over the last 18 months to Cancer.

It was no mean feat as normally people would walk from around 2/3rd of the way up the mountain, but to earn their sponsor money they did starting at sea level.

They had a few 'eventful' moments on the way which included Maggie nearly being blown off the mountain (on more than one occasion) and scaling a length of the mountain on a small ledge while clinging on for dear life after the torrential downpours last year washed a lot of the mountain away!!

We would be ETERNALLLY grateful for whatever you can give!

The supporting image is of Nick and Maggie at the finishing post after 13 hours of walking - they started in darkness (coolest part of day) at 6.30am thanks to the transport of the Ground Support Team (my Mum & Dad!!) and were tracked by GPS every minute by the Technical Support Team (Me & Katie!!) and safely picked up at their rendevous point at 7.30pm!!
