On Saturday 8 October I'll be swapping my comfortable bed for a sleeping bag in the cold for Launchpad's Big Sleep Out at the Reading Abbey Ruins - all to raise £40,000 for local people in housing crisis. As the cost of living rises over the coming months, Launchpad's vital services will be a lifeline to many. The charity's drop-in service - which provides free housing and homelessness support and information - is already seeing an increase in people needing urgent help. Some are facing spiralling rent arrears or eviction because they have been struggling to make ends meet. Other people's tenancies are at risk because they've battled serious mental health issues or addiction. With your donation, we can raise vital funds at Big Sleep Out at Reading Abbey Ruins and enable Launchpad to continue their incredible work with vulnerable individuals, couples and families in Reading and ensure they remain housed.
