Story
On the 26th September 2018, my Dad’s 61st birthday, we got the devastating news my Dad had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It was terminal. 9 weeks later on the 7th December my Dad was gone. Fast forward to July 2025 and my lovely Uncle Ian was diagnosed with the same pancreatic cancer. On the 24th September aged 61 (2 days before my Dad’s birthday) my uncle was gone. There is no genetic link between my Dad and Uncle. This is a brutal, unforgiving cancer that requires much more research. Early diagnosis can save lives. In memory of my Dad and lovely Uncle/Brother-in-law, we’re taking on 100 miles in November to transform the future of pancreatic cancer. 👟I will be running 100km (62.1 miles), Joe is playing a part of my Dad’s role on the biggest day of my life and will be running 30 miles and my Mum will be walking 20 miles. My cousin, Katherine has doubled the challenge and also will be running 100km throughout November. Together we’ll achieve this goal of 174.2 miles!
Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. Half of people with the disease die within three months of diagnosis. With research underfunded and left behind, people are left with only hope to hold onto. That’s why we really need your support this November during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. Donate now and you could help put a test in the hands of every GP 💜Together, we can raise awareness of the disease and the signs and symptoms, so that people can get a crucial diagnosis, sooner. Just £29 could fund further research to improve the speed of diagnosis. £212 could allow researchers to study 13 patient samples to learn more about the genetic changes that make people more likely to develop pancreatic cancer.Thank you so much for your support! 🙏
