I'm walking 125km this STEPtember to help give every poorly heart the strongest possible start! ❤️ #StepUpForCHSF
Did you know that 1 in 125 babies are born with heart disease? This STEPtember, I'm taking on the challenge of walking 125km while raising vital funds for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF), a charity that has become incredibly close to my heart.
I'm taking part because this cause is deeply personal.
In 2023, my son Billy was born with Pulmonary Atresia with an Intact Ventricular Septum, a rare and complex congenital heart condition. Since his birth, our family has faced lengthy hospital stays, two open-heart surgeries, multiple procedures, and countless challenges along the way.
Throughout our journey, we witnessed first-hand the incredible care, support and expertise that help children with congenital heart disease survive and thrive. We also experienced the emotional and practical impact that charities like CHSF have on families navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives.
Every day, families receive life-changing news that their child has a heart condition. By supporting my challenge, you'll help fund vital equipment, resources, research, family support services and innovations that make a real difference to children and families facing congenital heart disease.
Billy's strength inspires me every day, and I'm passionate about raising awareness, driving funding forward and helping create the best possible future for children born with heart conditions.
Billy has already overcome more in his short life than most people will face in a lifetime. Every step I take this September is for him, and for every child and family facing congenital heart disease.
Thank you for supporting me and helping every poorly heart get the strongest possible start. ❤️
