Virtual London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

FareShare Midlands redistributes surplus food from the food industry to charities and community groups supporting men, women and children living in food poverty. Last year we redistributed 6,000 tonnes of surplus food, providing 13 million meals and reaching more than 83,000 vulnerable people.

Story

Common sense and sanity have escaped me and I've been convinced to sign up for this years London Marathon. Because of Covid the Marathon is taking place virtually so I will be plotting my own 26.2 mile route alongside my sister Camille who I'm running with (she's also lost her mind).

Having not run further than 10k before, this challenge may well break me but we are doing it for the amazing charity Fareshare Midlands. The charity re-distribute food to schools, food banks and people in need. They hit the headlines when Marcus Rashford supported them last year. All the employees have worked tirelessly through the pandemic and they're busier than ever trying to keep people fed.

So in a mission to not only get fit and challenge myself in the biggest way yet, the main reason for this is to raise money to help end food poverty. Whatever you can donate towards it will not only motivate me to run as much as I can in preparation but also provide meals for people who would otherwise go hungry.

Thank you so much for your support and wish me luck!
