Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

I ve always loved swimming- for fun, to keep fit and more recently to travel the world. I've met some amazing people  and made many friends along the way.

Last year I had the ridiculous notion of swimming the channel in a relay- cue 5 lovely ladies who agreed to join me in this quest. We've entered events together and swum in some lovely locations, always supporting and encouraging each other.

I have a hard winter of training ahead in water under 16 degrees- I will be keeping my lockdown pounds on to keep me warm and toasty so any cake donations are welcome! Any training partners also welcome!

This will definitely be the last crazy event I take part in- I think- and I would love your support! Please keep in touch with how our team is doing on Facebook- team Zebra. We will be working hard over the winter and hopefully achieve our aim next August.

Thanks for reading this far- just off for a swim!
