Story
If I'm to be honest, my foray into veganism had nothing at all to do with animals. There I said it! I went vegetarian as a teen because I thought it was cool. But after trying to survive on veggie burgers and chips, I decided I needed to eat a bit better. This led me to learn about the multitude of health benefits of a balanced vegan diet, like the reduced risk of heart disease, cancer and diabetes (all of which are prevalent in my family); not to mention the more visible pros like a hot body and glowing skin... hey vegans wanna look good too! It wasn't until much later that I learned about the inhumane practices of factory farming and its deteriorating effects on the planet that I decided to become an ethical vegan.
I said all of this to say that regardless of whether you're an animal rights advocate, an environmentalist or you just want to look great and feel amazing veganism is a lifestyle you can proudly stand behind. So please, stand behind me and help me help The Vegan Society... I'll do the hard labour: the running, and you can do the easy bit: donating... I'm only attempting to raise £500, it's really not a lot. So if we all pool together I think we can not only reach, but exceed this goal! Remember every pound and dollar counts. No contribution is too little... You know what they say: "It's the thought that counts."
Thanks for your support! I'll Tweet you at the finish line! @ChasityNao
