The Salvation Army has served the community of Chatham for over 147 years and we are so very grateful for its financial support over those years.
The ongoing situation with COVID-19 is unprecedented. We know that many in our community continue to struggle and are desperately in need of our help. Whilst we have set up a separate Just Giving fund raising page specifically for our COVID-19 response, the Corps itself continues to be impacted by the loss of many of its usual sources of income that we expect will continue to be the case for some time to come.
It was once said by the great statesman Winston Churchill ‘The Salvation Army, at its best, are Christians with their sleeves rolled up’ – Major Ian F Payne, leader of Chatham Salvation Army, said ‘Our sleeves are rolled up and we are giving HOPE, bags of it, to our community that is in need’.
We are deeply passionate about serving our community and with the need only likely to increase, we are now looking to those that are able to consider making a sacrificial donation to enable us to continue providing practical assistance to those in need in the future.
