Story
NHS staff and volunteers are doing amazing work right now in caring for COVID-19 patients.Together, let's show our respect and gratitude as they work tirelessly in the face of the virus. It's our turn to make sure we look after them, to ensure they can keep doing their vital work.
Last Easter, me and my family climbed Snowdon the highest mountain in Wales in memory of my Uncle James who was a doctor. We couldn’t go hiking this Easter so I thought I could climb a mountain on my stairs at home instead! I have chosen Ben Nevis as it’s the highest mountain in the U.K at 1,345 metres! We have 12 stairs at home that are each 20cm high, 0.2 x 12 = 2.4 metres. So I need to climb my stairs 560 times to climb the 1,345 metres (going down doesn’t count!) over the next 3 weeks (about 25 flights per day!)
Apart from doing my school work, I have lots of free time and my mum is going to do the challenge with me. My sister said she will help my being chief counter and splashing water onto my face like real weather in Scotland!
Please give anything you can to sponsor me, the NHS are amazing! .
Stay at home and stay safe.
Charlie
