With the temperature dropping and the nights drawing in, it is hard to imagine what life would be like sleeping rough on the streets.
National figures collected by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government states that during the period of January to March 2019, 70,430 households were assessed as threatened with homelessness or homeless. On 31st March 2019 the number of households in temporary accommodation was 84,740, up from 83,610 on 31st December 2018.
Unfortunately, this could so easily happen to anyone of us and that is why supporting a charity such as Shelter is essential especially in the lead up to Christmas.
On December 3, a team of mothers from Cheapside Primary school will walk 10 km through central London to raise funds and take steps to fight homelessness for Shelter.
With support and advice Shelter helps people facing homelessness or experiencing housing issues.
In 2017/18, thanks to Shelter’s help: 36,000 households saw a positive change in their housing situation
12,000 households halted their eviction or repossession proceeding and kept their homes
3,300 households that needed to move home, found somewhere to live
13,600 households who were having an issue with their landlord or tenancy saw an improvement
5,400 homeless households found somewhere to live
4,000 households saw their poor conditions improve
16,000 households are now coping or managing better on a day-to-day basis
3,000 households improved their financial situation
Please sponsor our charity walk and support this great cause in keeping our community sheltered.

The team:
Fran Miles - "No-one should find themselves sleeping out on the streets or in unliveable conditions hence why I am supporting this wonderful charity who help people in need with their expert advice and support."
Emma Lopez - "I hate the rain and I hate the cold,
so, could I do something big and bold
To help the homeless in their plight
could I walk for miles on a cold, cold night?
Put myself right in their shoes
Feel the pain and the winter blues
And could you help me with this plan
by contributing as much as you can?
Every donation will be a bonus
in supporting the welfare of the homeless."
Heather Lehmann - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/heather-lehmann
Aishah Rammell - "Whether it’s the streets of Windsor or London, it is clear that homelessness is increasing. It can happen to anyone. We need to come together as a community to help the individuals that find themselves in this situation."
Anne-Marie Ellison - "I have volunteered for homeless projects in the past and the conversations that I have had with those sleeping rough supports the need for the vital work that these charities provide."
Please sponsor us as we take on this 10 km night walk on what will no doubt be a cold December evening. As we do, our thoughts will turn to those trying to keep warm whilst homeless.
