BUPA Great North Run 2010 · 19 September 2010 ·

We are the UK’s leading autism research charity. Our mission is to create breakthroughs that enable all autistic people to live happier, healthier, longer lives. We do this by funding research, shaping policy and working with autistic people to understand their needs.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

This year I've got a charity place on the Great North Run and decided to raise money for the charity Autistica (http://www.autistica.org.uk). The money raised will be used by Autistica to research into the causes and treatment of Autism.

Autism is a spectrum disorder varying in severity and impact from individual to individual, ranging from those with no speech and severe learning disabilities to people with IQs in the average range who are able to hold down a job or start a family.  People with autism may also have unusual patterns of language development, narrow interests and engage in repetitive and sometimes challenging behaviours.

I'm aiming to beat 1hr 30mins this year so wish me luck and please donate to this good cause ... every little helps.
