Myself and my sister in law Elaine are taking part in the 2018 midnight memory walk,to raise money for a cause close to our hearts.

In 2015 Graham spent the last week' of his life in Kirkwood hospice.The nurses and staff went above and beyond to look after us all.On 13th September 2015 we became family(legally).Graham was too poorly at this point to make it to the wedding,but with a days notice Kirkwood arranged for a bedside blessing ceremony.As soon as we had signed the papers we were on our way to Graham.Staff and nurses lined the corridors to congratulate us.They had arranged for a celebrant to perform our blessing,lit candles,arranged flowers and bucks fizz for our arrival.It was like a real wedding ceremony,and always will be the more significant one of the 2 for us.We had both sets of parents and our photographer present.Kirkwood gave us something priceless,memories we will treasure for a lifetime.No amount of money could pay for that day.But fundraising for Kirkwood can help towards other patients and their families getting the same support and dignity we were so lucky to have received.

Graham lost his battle with cancer on 16.09.15 in the care of Kirkwood hospice,surrounded by his loved ones.

There' not a day goes by we dont think of Graham.We Are eternally grateful for the care Kirkwood hospice provided.
