Great Manchester Run 10k 2019 · 19 May 2019 ·

We rescue dogs every day, who have been abused or abandoned, mainly in Romania, but also the UK and globally. We provide food, shelter and vet treatment for these dogs. Our neuter and education programmes focusing on changing the future generations and reducing stray populations across the world.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It’s no shock that I am not the most active person, so this is kind of a big deal to me! Seeing the support and atmosphere at the Manchester 10K last year was so overwhelming to watch and I knew I wanted to be a part of it this year... so here goes!

As everyone knows, I LOVE animals, especially dogs. The joy that they bring to our lives everyday can’t be described and I couldn’t imagine my life without my own fur baby! :-)

A charity that I follow religiously is Paws2Rescue who I heard about through a friend, and their work amazes me. They rescue, provide food, shelter and medicine to stray dogs in Romania (which is a HUGE problem over there) and eventually send them to the UK to be adopted by fellow dog lovers like us! Check them out on Instagram, it can be heartbreaking reading the stories of how these animals have been treated and abandoned, but it is equally heartwarming when they are eventually on the ‘Happy Van’ to the UK! They provide updates constantly and share before and after pictures - it is so moving to see how their lives have been turned around in such a short space of time thanks to the amazing work by this charity, who rely heavily on donations.

There are SO many dogs in shelters waiting for their forever homes and the clear message I want to get across is ADOPT DONT SHOP! :-)
