Brighton Marathon 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·
On the 19th April 2020 I will be running the Brighton marathon, in memory of my beautiful cousin Jordan Dawes. Jordan was so cruelly taken away from us in February, after being diagnosed with Liver cancer at such a young age of 18. Jordan was the most caring, kind-hearted, strong and beautiful person inside and out.. she aspired to be a goalkeeper and played for Kent Ladies. Jordan was truly talented and we all know she would have gone so far in her football career.
When deciding to take part in the Brighton marathon the first thing that crossed my mind was what an earth am I thinking I can’t even run 1 mile without collapsing, how am I going to be able to do 26.2 miles??!! But then I reflected on why I’ve chosen to do it.. J was so strong throughout everything she went through, and if J passing has taught me anything it is really how cruel this world can be, no one ever knows when your last day will be.. so live life to the full, push yourself to do things you wouldn’t usually do, and be thankful to those around you!
Not a single day passes where Jordan doesn’t cross our minds, we miss her more than words could ever begin to explain! Jordan will live on through us, and we will continue to make her proud everyday!
I have chosen Ellenor as my charity as the support they have provided our family both before, and after Jordan passed has been incredible! 70% of Ellenors funding comes from the community, and they need to raise a total of £6.9 million every year to continue doing the amazing work they do on a daily basis..
So please help me raise money for such a fundamental charity!
This is all for you J, I best get training!!
