<p>Cheltenham Animal Shelter has recently been granted planning permission for a site redevelopment and we need to raise <strong>&pound;100,000</strong> to ensure that work can be completed in 2011. And the situation seems to be escalating.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The redevelopment includes the construction of a designated re-homing area to make the re-homing process more efficient and allow the animals to spend less time at the Shelter.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The redevelopment will also allow us to expand our successful shop, which generates us a respectable amount of money and helps us cover charity running costs.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The redevelopment will also help youngsters who are deemed to be &lsquo;at risk&rsquo; or have been excluded from mainstream education, as a new educational room is also being included. We run a unique four week project called HALT - Humans and Animals Learning Together - during which the youngsters learn compassion, respect and responsibility for animals.
