Story
I am raising money for Beat by doing the 120 challenge in the month of March.
Beat is the UK’s largest eating disorder charity. Their main aim is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. Beat supports people who suffer from this severe mental illness whilst they are at their lowest and during their recovery.
1.25 million people in the UK suffer from an eating disorder, myself being one of them.
After a decade of suffering, I am luckily in Recovery with the help of family and friends.
However, I am left with life long effects from my Eating Disorder.
I want to erase the stigma and glamorisation around Eating Disorders. People need to be educated on the reality of the pain and suffering that so many people go through. But more importantly WHY they do it.
Beat do all of these amazing things however, just like every mental health charity, they are underfunded and under appreciated.
So, I am going to to Run/Walk 120 Miles in the month of March and hopefully raise awareness of this charity that I feel very passionate about and give them a little more funding so that they can do what they do best!
