Story
In September 2012 PC Nicola Hughes and PC Fiona Bone, both unarmed, responded to a report of a burglary and were tragically shot and killed.
Nicola's father Bryn set up the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund in her memory to raise money for three charities that greatly helped his family in the aftermath...
Care of Police Survivors (otherwise known as COPS) - a UK registered charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Victim Support - a free service offering help and support to victims of crime. Not part of the police, the courts or any other criminal justice agency.
North West Police Benevolent Fund - relieve officers of Cheshire Constabulary, Greater Manchester Police, Merseyside Police, Lancashire Constabulary and SOCA, retired officers of those and previous police forces amalgamated within the constituent forces, together with their dependents, who are in a condition of need and hardship or distress.
I, along with colleagues across the 43 police forces are taking up a challenge to run 250 miles in 125 days in an effort to raise money for the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund.
