London Marathon 2022 for Pawprints Dog Rescue

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
This will be my second marathon. The first one was horrendous and probably one of the hardest days of my life. So I must be mad for attempting it again, but hopefully this time I won't end up getting heatstroke!
I am raising money for the wonderful charity Pawprints Dog Rescue. I know they are fantastic as I have seen it first hand. Two years ago we adopted our Border Collie from them, he had ended up in the pound and his previous owner did not want him back. He had a history of being beaten and he was very nervous of men. Stray dogs like him only have seven days to serve at the pound before they will either be rehomed or euthanised, as there is nowhere for them to go. Pawprints literally save dogs from death row, and take on and rehome as many as they can after they have served their seven days. They ensure they are rehoming to the right people and continue to check-in after rehoming.
As a vet, I have had the privilege to help treat and care for a large number of Pawprints dogs. Pawprints is completely run by volunteers and they work tirelessly to look after their health and welfare. They ensure all dogs are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and any health conditions which we note on examination are dealt with before being rehomed. There is no limit to what they will do to help a dog out, but this of course comes at a cost.
Please consider donating some money however small, this is not going to be an easy challenge for me after giving up running three years ago!
Thank you so much,
