Let me tell you why I’ve chosen this wonderful charity.. 

Years ago I went through something that was so horrific. It changed me for life. Now I’ve had awful trauma in my life before, this was something I’d never dreamed of happening ever. I don’t think anyone does. Little did I know that the event in question would lead me to this amazing place to start my healing. Not only on the event that brought me there but a lot of other issues too. 

I get so emotional when thinking back and as I’m writing this I am so overwhelmed with how far I have come. 

Through this centre I learnt so much. I got to know the real me again. I learnt about so many things, and they have helped me in my life since. Gaining knowledge helped me understand. I’ve learnt things that have helped me make better decisions in life. I gained my self worth back, knowledge on behaviour of others and understanding myself! With that I  gained confidence to fight my other demons. 

I did courses, therapy, group therapy and one to ones. I enjoyed going there as I could see over time the good it was doing me. Learning to not be reckless, that I mattered and hearing others stories inspired me. I could see others healing too.  I replaced toxic friends, toxic relationships, leant tools to help me heal and had the help to get in touch with other organisations that I needed. 

In this centre I met some of the most inspiring, supportive, brave, understanding  and strong women I’ve ever met in my life.. I realised I’m not alone! I began to understand so much! It was a very hard and emotional time in my life. I’m not cured now but I’m better prepared. They offer so much and understand how everyone’s needs are different.  A very Relaxed and safe environment With laughter and fun. 

It was such a proud moment back then on worlds women’s day when I got my certificates. It also got me to a place in my life where I finally went for my dream job. I did volunteering at Warrington animal welfare and then landed a job as an auxiliary vet nurse in a animal hospital.. The dream Ive had since a little girl that just got lost along the way. I felt like I came home to my true self. 

My life hasn’t turned out the way I hoped. A lot of us can say that. Since leaving the centre and spreading my wings lots has happened. Not all good. Yet what I learnt has helped me through. 

What was shocking to me was that I’d never ever heard of this place. I’m a local girl how could I have not heard of such a place? I’ve definitely needed help in the past. 

That’s another reason I’m doing this: people need to know this incredible safe place exists. That it can really help you. That you deserve to heal. You deserve to be heard. You deserve support whatever it is you’re going through. 

I hate to think of what I’d of become if I didn’t find the chrysalis centre for change.  

I’m in a healthy relationship now, something I had no idea about before! As what I thought was healthy really wasn’t.  

I’m working on and in recovery every day regarding accepting myself as I am. Fighting my illnesses etc. I know once I never loved or cared for myself very much at all. 

I just want to say a massive Thank you from me and my whole family for what you did for me. I’ve helped others with what I learned and those close to me  witnessed me positively changing. 🦋
