I did it - yay!!!! Managed to make it in under 5 hours by the skin of my teeth, 4hrs 58mins & 44secs. Thank you to everyone for all the support I've received, I can't believe with all your donations we've made it to £5,000.

I am running the Brighton Marathon on April 15 to raise money for my father-in-law Derek Watkins, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Sarcoma.
Derek has an international reputation as one of the best trumpet players in the world and has the unique distinction of having played on every one of the James Bond films.
The determination and stamina that Derek has shown fighting cancer through chemotherapy and surgery will inspire me throughout the 26.2 miles of the Brighton Marathon, and your donations will make the sight of the finish line all the sweeter (that and the vodka & lucozade waiting for me at the end!).
Sarcoma UK is the charity for sarcoma patients, carers, and relatives www.sarcoma.org.uk. The money you donate will help Sarcoma UK’s to achieve the best possible standard of treatment and care for patients with sarcoma through:
Funding scientific and medical research into causes and treatments
Delivering a range of support and information services covering all aspects of sarcoma
