<p>I did it - yay!!!! Managed to make it in under 5 hours by the skin of my teeth, 4hrs 58mins & 44secs. Thank you to everyone for all the support I've received, I can't believe with all your donations we've made it to £5,000. </p>

<p>I am running the Brighton Marathon on April 15 to raise money for my father-in-law <a title="Derek Watkins" href="http://www.derekwatkins.co.uk">Derek Watkins</a>, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Sarcoma.</p>
<p>Derek has an international reputation as one of the best trumpet players in the world and has the unique distinction of having played on every one of the James Bond films.</p>
<p>The determination and stamina that Derek has shown fighting cancer through chemotherapy and surgery will inspire me throughout the 26.2 miles of the Brighton Marathon, and your donations will make the sight of the finish line all the sweeter (that and the vodka & lucozade waiting for me at the end!).</p>
