I am taking on the challenge of the ‘Marsden March’ walking 14 miles through London on Sunday, 16 March 2014 in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital in London with two wonderful friends, Anne Rayment and Jill Nicholls.
Anne’s little nephew Finlay, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour during February half term 2013. This devastating news brought his family’s world crashing down around them, however, the team at the Royal Marsden helped make every step of their road as easy as possible. His mum and dad could contact them at any time and they knew they always had the best interests of Finlay at heart. In Jude and Chris’s words, “we could not have done this without them”.
Sadly, dear Finlay passed away on Monday 27th January at the tender age of just 9 years old. When we signed up to do this challenge, we hoped Finlay would be able to see us complete the March, but tragically this was not meant to be. So now we are doing the challenge in memory of Finlay, and to have him with us every step of the way on the day we will be proudly wearing t-shirts with Finlay’s beautiful face on to see us through to the finish line.
Every penny and pound you donate today will go towards helping someone, somewhere living with cancer in their lives, just like Finlay and his family. Your donation will be invaluable to help the Royal Marsden continue providing this care and support to patients and their families.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you so, so much for your support.
