Tough Mudder Half Midlands (weekend 1) · 12 May 2018 ·

Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds research that could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.

Story

In May 2018 Team Chetwoods will take on of the biggest challenge known to architect kind.

TOUGH MUDDER.

Please welcome your Tough-Mudders:

Anthony Palmer  a.k.a Mr Money-Whizz

Louis Fantis a.k.a The Unstoppable Fizz

Tony Mahil a.k.a The Rabbit

Simon Thompson a.k.a The Flyaway Fiend

Robert Newton a.k.a The Grapple

Emily Heritage a.k.a The Queen of Admin and Mud

We’ll run, we’ll crawl, we’ll jump and we’ll climb. We’ll do whatever it takes to finish.

Through The Mud Mile, over The Berlin Wall, into The Birth Canal, we’ll face (lots of) mud, ice cold (muddy) water and unclimbable walls (covered in mud).

Along the way we will be raising money for Sands to support research into stillbirth prevention. Stillbirth is a drastically under-funded area which affects around 1 in 200 pregnancies in the UK. To give context, that equates to around 3,600 babies per year in the UK, twice the number of people who die in road traffic accidents, 5 times more common than Down’s syndrome and 15 times more common than cot death/SIDS. In many cases, these deaths and the trail of destruction they leave in families are completely preventable.
