Story

I am excited to be working with my university to raise money for Amnesty International UK; by taking part in a trek to Mount Everest’s base camp!

Amnesty International are a charity who fight tirelessly to ensure that human rights are respected and upheld worldwide. They are alsofunded exclusively by everyday people. This means that they are independent from any political ideology, economic interest or religious influence.

Amnesty international have achieved an extraordinary amount in their 60 years, including:

Reuniting families that were displaced due to forced migration, war or governmental interference.
 Educating people about their rights.
Working to end the death penalty.
Lobbying governments or organisations to make a change.
 Campaigning for LGTBQ+ rights worldwide.
 Aiding in equality for women.
 Receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

I am extremely passionate about this charity and therefore am honoured to be taking on the 15-day trek in Nepal next year! I will be trekking to a height of 5,645m above sea level and back during my trip; something that will take my group and I months to train for. This is due to the extreme climate, altitude and physical toll on our bodies.

My required donation target has been set by Amnesty International to not only aid them in their fight justice but also, to help to get me on my way to Mount Everest. I will be very grateful for any donations and hope that you will copy the link to learn more about this remarkable charity.

Thank you x
