Story
Welcome!
Thanks for visiting our new page raising money for Children's Hope Foundation, UK Registered Charity No. 1060409, through the secure Justgiving website, which can increase your contribution by up to 28%. This page represents one segment of CHF's fund-raising campaign. We have a target of £50,000 to be raised, both on and offline, by Sept. 2010. There is more than one way you could help. Please make a donation, big or small, or do a regular contribution, and please share this page to your friends.
The work of Children's Hope Foundation
Founded in 1997, CHF is based in Islington in London, but operates nationwide. It is an independent charity, under the Charities Commission, and is not connected with any religious or other organisation. It simply gives direct help to children, of all backgrounds, who have any kind of special needs. They may have disability, mental or physical. They may be suffering terminal disease or other severe illnesses. They may be undergoing hardship, through poverty, abuse or loss of family. Some children have to live with two - or even more - of these problems at the same time.
Children's Hope will help financially to pay for something needed by the child, which they would otherwise go without. It could be anything from specialised equpiment for mobility or support, to tailor-made computer hardware and software, to a holiday or fulfilling a special wish.
To show examples, we have scanned pages from the CHF Brochure and provided a Flickr link. The resolution is not really good enough for the text (sorry!), but the images show some of the help CHF gives. By clicking on the Flickr link, then clicking through the Brochure pages, you will be able to see a special support chair, a mobility trike and a seaside trip among other things.
Flexibility
Often a child needs something outside the remit or resources of other organisations. For example, there are charities which do excellent work, but are limited to specific disabilities, or particular forms of treatment. Local authorities, the NHS and other government bodies also have limits, and although they are vital and do a great deal, a point will come where they can do no more. CHF can then step up, because it has the flexibility to respond to any need, and apply funds directly to what is required.
Applications
Families or carers send their application to the Foundation, explaining what the child needs, with a letter of confirmation from a doctor or other professional. Many cases are referred to CHF through other UK charities, through the NHS , or by Social Services, and in this way the Foundation has been able to help large numbers of children all over the UK.
Please help today!
Will you please do something yourself? Anything you give, big or small, will have a great impact, often giving a child their first chance to do or experience something the rest of us take for granted. Please help to give that joy and hope!
Ways to help:
-- Make a one-off donation (online)
Press Donate Now and make a donation (any amount) by card or PayPal. This will be a single payment. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It is also very efficient: Children's Hope Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
-- Make a regular contribution by Standing Order (offline)
Send an email to: mailto: donate@childrenshopefoundation.org.uk You will receive our standing order form, which will let you set up an order on your bank account to make a regular payment to CHF. This is a great way to give. Being a standing order, not a direct debit, it is under your full control. It does not commit you to any length of time, and it cannot be varied or cancelled except by you. The form will also let you authorise Gift Aid, again increasing the amount by 28% at no cost to you.
-- Spread the word and get your friends to help (on/offline)
There several ways to do this. Just tell people about us and encourage them to help! Spread the word online by clicking share this page, and using the badges and widgets provided by Justgiving. Or simply copy the following link: http://www.justgiving.com/chfoundation (the web address for this page) and send it to people in your emails, e.g. by including it as part of your signature.
Thank you very much for your help!
