Hi everyone,
I obviously don't put a whole lot on social media but I am trying to reach as many people as possible.
You probably know that I am always out adventuring with my runs. After a few personal projects this past year, I felt I wanted to do something meaningful with my running this time around.
To step outside my comfort zone, I have decided to run for charity and let people know about my fundraising efforts.
From May 10th, I will run a marathon a day for 7 consecutive days. This will be the biggest mileage I have ever run in a week and possibly the toughest challenge, both mentally and physically, I have ever taken on.
I am doing this in order to raise £7,000 for Beat Eating Disorders. Beat helps people fighting the pain and the suffering that come with eating disorders. Eating disorders can affect anyone, however they are frequently hidden - both because they are such a complicated thing to understand, and because people affected are unable to talk about them and seek help. Over the last 15 years, I have been there myself in different ways and I hope someday to be brave enough to talk about it more.
It's never easy asking for donations, especially with how the world is right now. I mean it when I say donations of any size are greatly appreciated. If you can't afford anything, sharing this post will go a long way or even just visiting the Beat website and educating yourself about these illnesses would help.
In the meantime, I've got to go and start planning out my runs! These will happen in and around Edinburgh, taking in my favourite routes and scenery. If you would like to run with me, any distance (if safe to do so), please let me know :)
Thanks for reading my long post and I will get more details to you soon.
Chiara.
