NeuroMuscular Centre (NMC) supports people and families affected by neuromuscular conditions. We offer physiotherapy, training & development, support & advice, young people’s support, and ConnectUp, our social programmes, all supporting the physical and emotional well-being of our community.

Story

I know I swore after NY that I would never do this again - well I am! I know you all think I am crazy but please give me your support! And I swear after this one I will never do it again! Well, maybe some half marathons!

The Neuromuscular Centre (NMC) is a unique project, set up in 1990 to improve the quality of life and opportunities for people with the progressive muscle wasting condition, muscular dystrophy.  People with md have limited strength and flexibility and are increasingly profoundly disabled, there are in excess of 60 different kinds of muscular dystrophy with varying severity and life spans can be considerably shortened by the condition. For people both young and old with the condition there is a severe lack of resources, and of opportunities, as the nature of the condition means they require full time physical support. The NMC is a lifeline to hundreds of people living with the cruel condition and without their services many hundreds of individuals and their families would be isolated and lacking in much needed support.
