Edward is Donating his Hair & Having his head shaved

Donating Hair & Having head shaved · 2 September 2019
Edward was diagnosed with a Chiasmatic Piliocytic Astrocytoma Brain Tumour on the 18th November 2015. He had no symptoms and his diagnosis came completly out of the blue and changed our world for ever.
Edward was ambulanced to Kings College hospital London and 2 days later had surgery to remove as much of the tumour as posible. Unfortunatly Edward's tumour was wrapped around his optic nerve so it was unable to all be removed.
In January 2016 Our family was sent to the USA, Oklahoma, for Edward to receive proton treatment. Many of his school friends raised money for Edward and supported him through this. We spent 3 months in the USA while he received Proton Radiotherapy. Edward hair fell out around the area he received the treatment.
Edwards tumour is stable at the moment and although he has to have 6 monthly MRI's and check ups he is doing very well. As a parent the worry never goes away.
It was his decision the grow his hair and send it to little princess charity for them to make wigs for children that loss there hair. It is also his discision to have his head shaved to raise money for a local charity that supports children and there families as they struggle with living with cancer and the aftermath.
Edward Amazes me on a daily bases and we are so proud that he is doing this.
He has struggled with his hair growing as his head is extremely sensative after his surgery and the tiniest pull of hair causes him pain. But he has laughed at the coments where many times people have refered to him as a girl as he has long hair, but this has not put him of his goal.
If you can support him, even by donating the smallest amount he would be extremely grateful.
