We research early diagnosis and treatments to beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

Late last year we lost a good friend and crew member to pancreatic cancer, a disease with the lowest survival rate of all the cancers. Just 1% of men live for more than 10 years following diagnoses (please note women are affected too). As you may know, this was the cancer that tragically cut short the lives of Apple's Steve Job’s, the actor Alan Rickman and the writer AA Gill.

What can you do to help?

Most importantly, please share this and help raise awareness.

Secondly, there has been no improvement in the survival rate for pancreatic cancer for over 40 years. That why this year we are entering in the Round the Island (RTI) race one more time in memory of Jerry to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.  So, if you can afford to make a donation, it will help make a difference. 100% of your donation will go to directly to the charity Pancreatic Research Fund.

We will be racing around the Isle of Wight on 29 June in honour of Jerry and to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic research. The crew will comprise the original team that use to race with Jerry - skipper, John Digby, David Harper and Paul Stewart - as well as Jerry’s best mate Toby Gray and Kirsten Whitfield.

You can also find out more about the race and how we getting

Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.
