Arctic trek · 29 September 2015

We are a Scottish mental health charity that aims to stop the downward spiral of negativity many young people are now on. Our training programme aims to empower vulnerable teenagers, teach them to take control of their own lives and their future and help them find the voice they never knew they had.

Story

In March 2016 I will be going on a 10 day trek through Greenland with another 9 people from other schools in Edinburgh.

This is going to be an amazing experience and a life changing opportunity. We will be skiing 8 hours a day across sea ice, dragging 45kg sledges through unnamed valleys and mountains, and camping underneath the Northern lights. The temperatures can drop to as low as -20 degrees.

Me and the others from the expedition team will have to navigate our way through unnamed valleys and mountains. We will also be conducting scientific research for the European Space Agency.

We have also been doing training which was really hard at the start but is getting easier the more we do it.
