Fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Charities
Story
Hello Everyone and welcome to my fundraising page.
I have recently signed up to the crazy challenge of cycling 300 long miles from London to Paris in four short days!
I signed up to this challenge because my very best friends Darren Bailey and Lauren Hill lived at the Ronald McDonald House in Southampton for 15 months, while their gorgeous little son Oliver was being treated in PICU/HDU Southampton hospital. Ollie suffers from Titin Myopathy, which is a muscle disorder causing muscle weakness due to a problem with the titin protein in the body.
Living in the Ronald McDonald house meant that Darren and Lauren could be with Oliver all the time and were never too far away. To date, Ronald McDonald House Charities has built accommodation at 14 hospitals across the UK which provides 400 free bedrooms for families every single night of the year. There are still hundreds of families sleeping on camp beds and in cars each night just to be close to their sick child.
I’ve seen first-hand how Ronald McDonald House Charity can
support families when their child is poorly and truly believe that this
fantastic charity is a very worthy cause for extra funding, which is the reason why I am cycling from one country to another.
As an amateur bike rider and someone who hasn’t really ridden
a road bike before this is a huge challenge for me. I am asking you to please help support Ronald McDonald House Charity with any donation big or small so that they can continue to help families like they helped support my best friends through a very tough time in their lives.
