Lois my sister-in-law unexpectedly passed away in July 2014 aged 27, following a four month battle from her diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Few of us knew about leukaemia, which made it all the more difficult and challenging for us, and it was hard to understand the potential longer term outcomes for young people going through intensive treatment for blood cancers.
Such a cruel twist in what has seen Lois as an otherwise fit and healthy young lady with lots going on in her life, left her husband and 2 year old daughter, family, friends and colleagues devastated. United together in out grief, we are now determined to turn this very sad loss into a positive action to ensure more people survive this terrible condition.
