Ibstock plc - Proud to be supporting Shelter. We are extremely proud and excited to be partnering with Shelter. We're working with them to raise awareness and vital funds to support people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing.

Story

On Saturday 29th May 2021 me and three of my colleagues  from Ibstock Chailey will be taking part in the 100k (62.5 miles, yes I said 62.5 miles!!!!) London to Brighton Challenge to raise money for our chosen charity Shelter. We will be walking continously for around 24 hours without sleep. ......... Yes I know your thinking these people are crazy ...and maybe your right!

Anyone who knows me well knows I feel much more comfortable on top of a horse than walking! But I felt it was time for a new challenge, and this really will be one for me!  Having two young children I haven’t done much exercise for a while and it’s going to be tough.  Having two little ones is also going to make the training a juggle, but I am committed to completing the challenge. There is going to be lots of pushing the girls around in the buggy! And I can tell you pushing both of them uphill is a real workout so hopefully this will be good training!

Ibstock plc (my employer) has chosen to partner with shelter and have pledged to raise £50,000 during the first year and all the donations I raise will go towards this. Shelter is an amazing charity they help millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through advice, support and legal services. And they campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to them for help.

I would be so very grateful if you could support me by donating to this great cause as it will make every step of me walking the 100k worthwhile.

Thank you for your support Chloe xxx

Note from Ibstock plc - Proud to be supporting Shelter. We are extremely proud and excited to be partnering with Shelter. We're working with them to raise awareness and vital funds to support people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing. A home is a fundamental human need and a basic moral right, as vital as education or healthcare. But in Britain today, that right is being denied to millions of people whose lives are blighted by homelessness, bad conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. As 4,750 people sleep on the streets on any given night and 90,000 households are stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation, such as homeless hostels, we believe we must contribute to the solution through our products, skills and fundraising.Help us reach our target of £50,000 in our first year to make a difference to the lives of homeless people and those at risk of homelessness. Thank you very much for your support.
