Well......where do we start???

All it took was one conversation and word to get round and here we are - a team of cyclists ranging from complete novices to keen riders all with one goal in mind, to get to the finish line while raising funds for a charity which has become the epitome of finding a beacon of light when you don't think there is one.

The group will be embarking on a 140-mile cycle from Whitehaven in Cumbria to the shores of Roker in Sunderland over three-days in aid of the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust. The charity was created as a lasting legacy to South Tyneside sweethearts Chloe Rutherford, 17, and Liam Curry, 19, who were among 22 people killed in the Manchester Arena attack in May 2017.

This challenge is hard for any keen cyclist but it will be a test of both physical and mental strength for the majority of the group who have never come close to taking part in a cycling challenge such as this one in their life!!

But, what makes this challenge even more special, is that Liam's younger brother Zack is part of the group. It is also the same route Liam, himself, completed in 2012 raising funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation in memory of their grandad Jack Allen, who coincidentally had also completed the route back in the 90s - however, he chose to walk the distance. 

The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust was set up to provide support to aspiring young sportspeople and performers to achieve their dreams through the use of bursaries. Without them, many talented young people would have been forced to give up on their dreams and aspirations.

Performance and Sport were chosen as Chloe was a passionate and talented performer while Liam excelled in sport - in particular cricket.

The group is being sponsored by Business Discount Group, a new South Tyneside - based company, created by Business Owners for Business Owners, to help slash their utility bills including gas and electricity.
