UNICEF works to build a better world for every child, every day. A world where every child has the chance to fulfil their potential and grow up healthy and safe. We work in 190 countries and territories around the world, reaching more children than any other humanitarian organisation.

Story

Would you give up a bottle of water to save a life?

Pledge 1: Give up a bottle twice a month.
Donating £2 a month of your savings is as little as it would cost to provide a child with safe water for life.

Pledge 2: Give up a bottle once a week.
Donating £5 a month of your savings ,over a year, could protect a spring benefiting 300 people.

Pledge 3: Drink tap whenever you drink water
A family could donate £250 of the savings to pay for a school sanitation block for 100 girls and boys.

Workplace Pledge:
Take action to switch your workplace to tap, and donate the annual savings to save lives. The potential benefit is huge. For example, recent Freedom  of Information requests have revealed the BBC spends £406,000 annually on bottled where safe and clean tap was available:and perhaps a futher £1.5 mm at the 103,000  hospitality events it hosted in 2008. Imagine the benefit of choosing tap instead and saving lives.

Pledge your workplace to choose tap, and donate the savings to save lives from unsafe water.

We will be publishing a roll-of-honour  of organisations who have taken the pledge, hopefully from Whitehall to the The White House, Wall Street to the United Nations, the largest company to the smallest enterprise.

Thank you.
