Story

Dear All,

On 19th April 2022, we will march from the Charterhouse in London to Charterhouse School carrying 30lbs of kit, aiming to raise money for the Mark Evison Foundation. The route is set to be tough but great fun, traversing through Central London, meandering down the Thames Path, on to the River Wey path then through the 'Arc de Triomphe' of Brooke Hall!

The Foundation was set up in 2009 in memory of Lt Mark Evison, an Old Robinite  who was tragically killed on patrol in Afghanistan whilst serving with the Welsh Guards regiment. He was known to be a truly inspirational character. An Army report said the following about him:

“An exceptionally impressive young officer. He is bright, positive, fit, robust and charismatic…Importantly he is set apart from his contemporaries because he combines real talent with great humility and charm. He also maintains many interests outside the army and is a talented musician…His soldiers have nicknamed him ‘007’ which, whilst humorous, does indicate their respect for his ability.  He cares very deeply for his men and takes great trouble to ensure than they never want for anything”.

The Foundation’s mission is to “promote the personal development of young people through the undertaking of challenges”. They partner with schools in London to help young people to create and plan projects which are personally challenging. Such projects develop “confidence, strength, resilience and breadth, as applicants take independent ownership of something they are keen to do”.

Your donations can fund projects such as these, making a real difference to people who, without the help of the foundation, would have limited opportunities to finance these projects.

We have a huge challenge ahead of us, however the opportunity to walk for a charity that does the most amazing work in honour of such an inspirational character is a challenge we are all ready for!  All sponsorship is hugely appreciated as will be any support on arrival on the BIG day! All sponsorship is hugely appreciated as is any support on the BIG day! Come and cheer us on and / or walk the last mile with us; we would love to see as many of you as you can. You can also track our progress on Instagram at @chouse2chouse!

Many thanks in advance for all your generous donations.

Best,

Louis, Iona, Will and Ross
