Story
In April 2011 our family received the devastating news that my wife, Angela was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). For those who know Angela she was a fit, active 54 year old taking part in Sprint and Olympic Triathlon.
Angela was initially admitted to Ward 9 at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton for 13 weeks much of that time spent in isolation, whilst commencing Chemotherapy treatment on an ALL trial. This aggressive treatment left Angela very weak and she encountered many setbacks. Angela is now on the Maintenance programme to maintain remission. This treatment will last until January 2014.
Angela has supported me over the years whilst I competed as a Road Racing Cyclist and more recent Triathlete competing at all distances up to and including Ironman. We both feel it is time we gave something back to help find treatments which will help find a cure for Leukaemia. These trials are crucial and this is why we have chosen Leukaemia & Lymphoma as our chosen charity.
I will be competing in Ironman France, taking place in Nice in June 2013.
Please support me in this venture and help others receive the superb care and treatment which Angela has received.
