The 2.6 Challenge · 26 April 2020 ·
We were due to travel to a Scotland to trek the West Highland Way between May 7-16, but instead find ourselves locked down with no choice but to rearrange our trip for next year.
But, starting on Sunday April 26, we’ll be completing the equivalent distance of the West Highland Way (96 miles) over the course of 2 weeks and 6 days as part of the 2.6 Challenge. We’ll be walking through the streets, fields, tracks and paths of Bicester (in a socially distant manner!)...completing the distance on the same day we would have finished the real thing.
And the reason? We’re fundraising for The Marmalade Trust (named after Paddington Bear!), whose mission is to tackle loneliness and social isolation in the UK, by offering a vital link between lonely people and the communities and resources that can help them...needed now during this period of social isolation more than ever.
We’ll be posting regular photos of our progress, and maps of our routes each day - there may even be some special outfits or accessories thrown in too ;-)
