Dr Kershaw's Hospice provides free, specialist, end-of-life and palliative care (an area of healthcare that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of patients) for adults with life-limiting illnesses in Oldham and its surrounding areas in a peaceful and homely environment.

Story

The walk we are doing starts in Chepstow and finishes in Prestatyn, which is a total of 177 miles, and over 3 hill ranges, which means we have a total climb/descent of 9000 metres (the same height as Mount Everest) We will start walking on 27th April and all being well finish on Saturday 11th May. We will of course be carrying our camping equipment, food, spare clothes and anything else we think we may need along the way.

Why Dr Kershaw’s?

As we were doing this walk anyway we decided to try and raise money for charity whilst we were doing it, the big question was, which one?

There seemed to be an awful lot of worthy causes to choose from. The eventual choice of Dr Kershaw’s was down to Keiras Wishes. Keira puts so much effort into raising money, which is admirable in anyone, never mind one so young. I know Keira has her reasons for doing this, but it is still inspiring. How could we not lend a helping hand to this charming young lady.
