Story
Watching the news over the past few weeks I cannot help being moved by the desperate plight of people in Yemen and in several African countries such as Somalia and Nigeria.
I was talking to my wee boy about this and how he feels about it.
Most children talk about how hungry they are and, on occasions, they will say that they are starving. My son is no different but thankfully he does not understand what real hunger means.
It costs just £8.00 to feed a boy in Kenya’s refugee camps for 3 weeks!
Myself and several volunteers from Dunoon Grammar School are taking part in a sponsored fast for 24 hours. At least we get the choice not to eat - right now millions of people don't get that choice!
I know that hunger is not exclusive to African nations,
indeed the school's recent food bank appeal shows that our own community is not immune from hunger and deprivation.
Thanks in advance for your support.
