Welcome, 

Some of you may be aware that I like to partake in the odd running jaunt. This time around, I've signed up for something which, a few years ago, would be absolutely incomprehensible to me... an ultra marathon?! 

Unfortunately, some of you may not be aware, however, that my Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer towards the back end of 2021. He has just been through an intense brachytheropy operation, which is now going to be followed by a grueling 5 weeks of daily radiotherapy treatment. This isn't the first time we've had to fight the c-bomb, as 6 years ago, we were in a similar position. However, this time around has been a specifically difficult process. 

One amazing positive that we've found as a family from this diagnosis/treatment is the incredible help and support that Christie's have given to us, and we will be forever grateful. To try and give something back for their outstanding efforts, this run will look to fundraise to support this fantastic charity and to all of the hard work their nurses and doctors provide!

This will be the most physically and mentally challenging event I have ever attempted. To give some perspective, the event consists of a trail marathon around Snowdonia mountains, before a steep ascent/descent of Snowdon, totaling a dizzy 35.3 miles! It's likely to be an emotional rollercoaster, but with the help and support from family, friends and a fundraising focus, I really do hope it will provide the motivation to push through the inevitable pain cave!
