Coniston Old Man Walk · 18 September 2022

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Charity works hard to make a difficult time a little bit easier for young and old at our family of nine hospitals. Supporting: Manchester Royal Infirmary | Wythenshawe Hospital | Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital | Manchester Royal Eye Hospital | Saint Mary’s Hospital | Manchester University Dental Hospital | Withington Community Hospital | Trafford General Hospital | Altrincham Hospital | North Manchester General Hospital. We support continuing excellence in treatment, care and research.

Story

At the end of last year I had an accident at work which resulted in me badly scalding both of my hands and being rushed to Wythenshawe Burns Unit where I spent 9 days receiving specialist treatment. Without their expert care I wouldn't have made the recovery I have so far. I will never fully be able to express my most sincere gratitude to all the staff at the unit for their care and expertise but I hope that by completing the challenge I could in some small way help by raising much needed funds.

That's why on Sunday the 18th September 2022 a team of us are walking the Old Man of Coniston loop to raise money for the Wythenshawe Burns unit, it's a challenging walk of approx 10 miles with an ascent on 1205 metres taking in the fells of Old Man of Conisiton, Black Crag, Swirl How & Wetherlam.

Thank you for taking the time to read this & please donate if you can.

Many thanks

Chris
