Chris' London Marathon Fundraiser

London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
As most of you know before clicking this link, I’m Chris - a 28 year old Englishman living in Ontario, Canada. I love to play soccer, and tell myself I love running - even though it is gruelling and typically painful. In early 2023, I’ll be running the London Marathon. This will be my third marathon, and second in support of Cancer research.
The hard truth is that we have all been affected by cancer in some way through our lives - whether it be a direct family member or friend that we’ve lost too early, or knowing someone close to us that has gone through the pain and suffering of losing a loved one. I have chosen to run this 42.2km event to raise money for crucial research to be carried out to find a cure for this evil disease.
In recent years I have lost two grandparents to cancer. Both occasions hurt my family deeply, as losing any family member does. It is with these two amazing people in my head and my heart that I will complete every run, up until and including the marathon. But I don’t just run for Margaret and John; I run for all the other individuals that have touched my life and have or continue to have battles with cancer. Further, I run for all of my loved ones that have had to endure the pain and suffering of a family member or friend going through the same battle.
Even as a 28 year old, the list of family and friends names I am running in support of is too long to include here - which is such a problem, and exactly the reason I am choosing to fundraise.
Thank you in advance for reading and considering a contribution. Every dollar truly helps!
With love, Chris
